just thinking about the songs that make me want to write songs… this is one of them. I first heard it in my dad’s car, on the way to school, a few years ago. This is quite possibly the song that accidentally gave me my penchant for writing love story songs with many, many verses. I love being a ‘musician’. I can type on pictures of cats and convince myself I’m working.

So excited to say I’ll be playing my first ever gig in London! I’ll be supporting the lovely and talented Lloyd Yates along with the equally lovely and talented Thomas J Speight at Bush Hall on Friday 13th July. Tickets are on sale now. Would be lovely to see some of you there!

Hello! Thank you very much, kind stranger.

I recorded all the live stuff (including Streetlight Superhero & Mamma Mia) with Grant Henderson at Loom Studio. Dinner For Breakfast & Good For Each Other were recorded with Fran Wheeldon & Ian Caballero at Huddersfield University. And Percy Anderson was recorded in my kitchen with my phone… hope that helps! x

played a gig in a park yesterday! 1st time I’ve watched people ride pedalos as I sing.

I don’t have any gigs for ages now, which is great because I’ve got so much Buffy left to watch but it’s a bit of a shame as I’ve grown quite fond of gigging over the years. How else am I supposed to know if my jokes are still funny?! So if you’re interested in having me play songs in the general direction of yourself or others feel free to get in touch!

I do have some exciting things to tell but I’m waiting until I have a funny and semi-relevant photo to accompany them.

I don’t half miss being on tour. This time(ish) 3 weeks ago we were here! I would’ve provided more in depth commentary but I’m not sure I was in my right mind considering the cold and the amount of time we’d been in the car. Instead, it seems, I just tried to say Scotland and highlands as many times as I could in 39 seconds.

I reckon on the next tour we’ll try to head for warmer climes.

woah look! A poster with my name on that I didn’t design! I have two super exciting gigs to *~announce~*…

I’ll be taking part in this year’s Live at Leeds festival on Saturday 5th May. 3pm at The Wardrobe so you’ll have chance to sit down if you come see me. It’s a pretty fantastic line-up, I would gladly stay in Holy Trinity Church all day if I didn’t have a set to play and stuff.

And then on Sunday 6th I’ll be heading over to Manchester! Headlining (I say headlining, I’m just playing last) at SOUL:SESSIONS at the wonderful Matt & Phred’s jazz club. It’s a great venue and just look at those pizza offers! It’s going to be ace.

p.s. I’m now selling ‘will Patch make it?’ merch in the shoppe! Hopefully get rid of it all before my mum decides to use it as kindling.

here’s what we got up to when Patch wasn’t breaking down. A live version of ‘Cardigan Sweater’ in the living room of our B&B! We were home alone so after a brief dance to Nicki Minaj we thought we’d give this a go.

Patch made it! Kind of. We broke down at about 6pm on Wednesday...

Patch made it! Kind of.

We broke down at about 6pm on Wednesday and after 3 hours at the side of the road, 2 hours in a garage waiting room, journeys in 4 different tow trucks, and one quick change in to a monkey onesie at services we made it! I got home at 11am on Thursday and slept for a long time. I’ll be sharing a set of photos a bit later on that I feel best sum up our minor adventure.

Not entirely sure when Patch will fully recover from her ordeal but still, the show’s got to go all over the place, we have 3 more gigs this month as part of the ‘will Patch make it?’ tour and we will get there somehow!

Thanks for a lovely gig, Inverness. You were definitely worth 2 days in the car. And such a pleasure to share the stage with the wonderful Blue Rose Code for the first time tonight.
